You'll need a large sauce pan, measuring spoons, a large spatula and a measuring cup.

This recipe takes about ten minutes to prepare.

INGREDIENTS
  • large graham cracker crumb pie shell
  • 1 1/2 - 2 cups frozen berries
  • 2 cups of half and half
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar or vanilla powder
STEP BY STEP
  1. fill the bottom of the pie shell with a layer of frozen berries (about 3/4 of the berries)
  2. set remaining berries aside
  3. combine the half and half, sugar and cornstarch in the saucepan and mix well
  4. heat the mixture over medium heat stirring often until it thickens (about five minutes)
  5. immediately pour the mixture into the pie shell over the berries
  6. sprinkle vanilla sugar (or powder) over the top of the pie (optional)
  7. arrange the remaining berries on top of the filled pie
  8. refrigerate for one hour or until chilled
TIPS AND HINTS:

I use frozen blueberries, frozen strawberries and a three berry blend mix.

This is fast, tasty and easy. It's good warm too.

You may want to let the berries melt a bit so the juices have some time to flow.. yummy

You should eat it quickly though, since the custard shrinks and cracks if you leave it too long (more than two days in the refrigerator).
